Steph Morin is a Canadian singer-songwriter born in Montreal. His music career started a little more than 15 years ago, in a bar, as he asked a singer if he could play a few songs between two sets. The guy said ok! He was hired on the spot by the owner and he played there for 6 months in a row. After playing covers in the Quebec area for a couple of years, he decided to hit the road with his own material.
He built his name on the Quebec scene as an authentic performer who loves to meet and exchange his audience. He played many benefit shows and he is always in to help a good cause with his music.
It was in 2015 that his english career took off. Being a huge Springsteen and Bon Jovi fan, he likes to hang out in New Jersey at least once a year, where he met a local musician in a music store in Asbury Park. Steph played him one of his new songs and the guy said ”Man, you have to write more songs and release something… you sound great!”. As soon as he got back to his hotel room, he wrote ‘LAST TRAIN’, which became his first single to make it to the radio as well as the foundation of his new project.
Back in Montreal, his new musical adventure began. He called his friends and got rushed in the studio where he produced ‘I Won’t Forget You’, his debut english album released in June 2018, recorded at MediaMusique and mastered at the famous Sterling Sound in NYC.
Since then, his material has been well received by medias all across Canada & the United States. In 2018, Quebec voted for him and his song ‘Last Train’ that ended up in the Top 10 (#6 /more than a hundred bands) in a contest to open for Bon Jovi at the Bell Center hosted by Evenko. He recently played two nights at Le Ministère in Montreal, small venues in the United States, appeared in several radio shows, and this is just the beginning of his journey.
He just released a 7 song live album called ‘Live in Montreal’ on January 17 2020 to thank his fans while they wait for the new material to come out. He is currently back in the studio, working on a new country album to be released in Spring 2021, which will impose his name even more in the New-Country music industry.
Be ready, you are about to hear his name more than once in the next years…
